Hello San Jose

Here's a pic of Mike and V in the Miami Airport.  They said, "great, with masks we don't need to smile.." but... I think you can tell that they are giving me the "really - do you need to take another photo" death stare.

Maybe you've already read The Journey post, so I'll start with the part where we wake up to this GORGEOUS view from our AirB&B balcony:

It was Saturday morning, so we went on a walk.  We walked in the park near the National Stadium through bamboo forests and looking out over lily covered lakes...

And we walked in the neighborhood of La Sabana.  We saw lots of awesome flora - banana plants!  zigzag plants!

and then we encountered the fauna...

Mike just caught himself from screaming like a little girl. These spiders are the size of your palm.  Golden Orb Weavers.  Totally harmless, we actually had them in Houston too - but not Mike or Vivian's favorites.  We were on Spider Watch for the rest of the walk.

Later we went to the supermarket... giant mangos!! Plantains that are actually ripe!  Fruit and veggie paradise...
We went to the roof of our place 23 stories up for hot tub, sunset and to look at the night skies.

How lovely.  Tonight there's a soccer game in the stadium - we have nosebleed seats from our roof.  I'm sure we'll be the only family who thought of that idea.
